Increasing Default Rates in 2014

Accordingtosurveysconductedby Boa Vista SCPC [1], the default rates in Brazil (January-August 2014) increasedby 2.5% comparedtothesameperiod in 2013.

Even considering the decline of default in August 2014, which decreased by 2.8% compared to the previous month, the year of 2014 has been a difficult one for creditors and, it seems, the picture will not improve in the coming months. The variation of the default rate accumulatedin 12 months (September 2013 to August 2014) demonstrated a 2.2% increase compared to the previous 12 months (September 2012 to August 2013) [2].
